The Force made this known in a statement on Friday
that there had been an overwhelming interest by many Nigerian youths to
join the police force after President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of the
recruitment of 10,000 police officers.
It would be recalled that the President warned on Thursday that the police should not extort intending applicants. The Force therefore, advised applicants to wait for instructions on how to apply, adding that the vacancy would be announced soon.

An Abuja-based policy analyst, Mr. Jide Oluyemi, said, “Many government
organizations like the Nigeria Police had swindled unemployed youths
while they were seeking for jobs. He made reference to the the recent
immigration recruitment exercise, where scores died after paying much to
obtain forms and take exams.
