Meet the pretty lady who graduated with First class from law school
At just 22, she already understand the value of diligence. Adetutu
Olowu, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, graduated with
a First Class from the Lagos campus of Nigerian Law School in the
2014/2015 academic session. In this interview with PUNCH, she shares her
experience:
How was your experience in the school?
I found Law school very challenging and a bit stressful. The classes were always long and we had assignments and tasks to work on every day. It was better to read so as to reduce the workload when exams were close. Being in Law School requires a lot of focus and effort, but I found that it was good for my development as a person. People told me how difficult it could be to have a first class, but those stories strengthened my resolve to excel.
Was it your dream as a child to be a lawyer?
Yes, I had always dreamt of becoming a lawyer, even as a child. The main
reason at that time was because I was fascinated by the respect and
admiration people had for lawyers, especially in their formal dress (the
wig and gown). So, I dreamt to be one, and I’m glad I made that
decision.
How easy was it to graduate with a first class from the Law school?
It was very challenging. In fact, the road to having a first class was
the most challenging one I ever encountered till date. It didn’t come
easy, but thank God I made it. I’m definitely a product of hard work and
God’s blessing. Having a first class in Law requires hard work and my
case wasn’t different. I had to drive myself very hard because I had the
mind of having a first class and I knew it wouldn’t come easy, so I
prepared for it. I used to read from the beginning to the end of the
session and then asked God to crown my effort with success. So, that
combination made it possible.
Did you also have the same performance when you were in OAU?
The only periods that I didn’t perform
well were during my first three years as an undergraduate and it was
primarily because I thought I could continue with old methods and get
the same results. Thank God I changed that approach before it was too
late. I realised that if I put in the required effort, I could and would
be the best in all I did. Thus, I
didn’t need anyone to tell me before I adopted that measure when I got
to the Law School. I worked hard, but more important was God’s grace.
What was your typical day like in the Law School?
I used to wake up by 3:00am and read till 5:30am, after which I would
have my bath and go back to sleep. After that, I would wake up by
8:00am, have my breakfast and prepare for class. We used to spend about
eight hours in class with just thirty minutes lunch break. After
classes, I took time out to gist with my roommates and friends, ate
dinner and then go to bed.
A number of people see Law as a complex, voluminous and technical course, what is your view on that?
Law is indeed very complex, voluminous and technical. However, I believe
that consistent reading will aid understanding of the course, and
approaching the course with an understanding that all aspects of Law are
interrelated would help simplify it.
Some people think that cramming is a necessity for anyone to
excel in Law, especially when it comes to cases. Did you have to cram
as well?
No, I didn’t. I’m not very good at cramming. In fact, I didn’t cram lots
of cases or statutes for the bar exam. I believe that the most
important thing is to understand the principles of law so that one can
apply them to problems in order to proffer solutions.
Which area would you like to specialise in?
Law is interrelated, but I have flair for International Business Law or Corporate Finance.
How long were you reading?
I can’t really say the exact number of hours I read daily because I read
as time permitted. However, I made sure I read every topic before each
class. That gave me an idea of what to expect and to be able to ask
informed questions and clarify anything I didn’t understand while
reading.
How often did you use the library?
I hardly used the library because I realised that I usually slept there.
So, the best place I read was either in my room or the reading room in
the hostel.
How would you describe your social life?
I was not very social, but my friends understood my kind of person, so
they let me be. However, I tried to be social from time to time, just as
they say all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I tried to be
involved a bit in some social activities.
Being a young lady, how did you handle peer pressure?
I’m an independent person and I have been like that for as long as I can
remember. In addition, I hang out with like-minded people who would not
put pressure on others to do anything they don’t want to do. So, that
wasn’t a problem for me.
How did you use your leisure?
I read fictional books and I watched a lot of movies.
How did you handle gestures from men, who might be attracted to your brilliance?
I tried to be friendly with them, but I always made my position clear
and I stood by it. It didn’t stop me from mixing and relating with them,
but there were boundaries and we all respected that.
What were your most memorable moments?
My happiest memory till date is the day I saw my Law School result. It remains a day to remember. If
you set a goal and you worked at it, coupled with your faith and you
achieve that set target, it will surely be memorable and I cherish that
moment.
What are your immediate plans and aspirations?
I intend to practise for some time and go for my Master’s very soon. I
like to go deeper. Law is an interesting course that any interested
person would find attractive. I’m glad to be in this profession.
Where do you hope to work?
I look forward to working in a big and reputable law firm. I like to
practise, but law is a course that is relevant to every aspect of life,
so I might venture into something else in future.
What would you advise students to do to have an excellent result?
Students should read very well; there is no shortcut to that.
They should not be too proud to ask for help from their peers when they
need to. Above all, they should always ask God to crown their efforts
with success.

Update: Dabota Lawson's wife Cheating Saga
The lady, Ladun, who broke the story about Dabota Lawson's alleged cheating scandal has opened up that Dabota is not telling the truth by claiming that there is no problem between she and her husband and that in fact, as at this morning, she has still not return to her matrimonial home. Details below:
After we broke the news that Dobata and her billionaire husband, Prince Sunny Aku’s marriage has packed up, she went ahead later in the evening to debunk the story and even posting a VIDEO of them together. Now this is it, as you read this, Mrs Aku, I mean Dabota Lawson-Aku is still not in her matrimonial home. Let me break it down for you very well, as at yesterday Dabota was not with her husband till the news broke (because she left on Friday) and when the news went viral, she couldn’t take it in a way. She called him up in the afternoon. After several missed calls, Prince picked his call and Dabota begged for forgiveness and begged to see him. Apparently, she was looking for a way to shut the news down.
Before all of these, her friends have been calling me saying the news is not true and I should pull it down. My question was okay wait a minute, this is just me and you guys now, the world isn’t here, are you telling me, Dabota is still with Prince? they said YES, then I told them that my source is very correct and the source even told me, this and this, but I just don’t want to put it all out because there’s no joy in reporting that another lady’s marriage has packed up. Then they said hmm, and couldn’t reply me. The hmm was deep, and between me and them, we understand the meaning of the hmmm, and the line went off. Nobody called me back, after they had called twice and we had this ‘hmm’ last conversation. Cus I told them there was more to say, I just don’t think it should be all out there.
Fast forward later, Dabota did a video and sent it out trying to name me a liar. Well these are the questions that need answers: Did Dabota pack out of her matrimonial home on Friday? YES… Did she fight Prince? YES…. Is Dabota back to her matrimonial home as you read this? NO, read again NO.
Those who know their house knows that the video sent out, posing as if they were at home was not recorded in their house. The video was recorded at a place Dabota begged to see Prince (I dont want to mention the place). Please it was NOT in their HOUSE. Show anyone that knows their house the video. When the news went viral, she begged Prince to see him, as a man who loves his wife, he later agreed to see her. She told him the news was already everywhere and Prince should please let them record a video to shut it down, because an interview alone will not help. He agreed and the video was shot, after the video, Prince left and Dabota left too.
My source however says she has called Prince again that she will be coming home later today and if not today, she will return this week unfailingly. That is the true story. I have nothing to gain in pulling her down, and the truth is, if I don’t report it another person will, it will only just be a matter of time and that was why I did. Those that KNOW THE TRUTH, knows this is nothing but the truth. Dabota rushed to meet him to shut the news down and she is not back to her matrimonial home yet.
Again like I said in my first post, Prince had said he won’t take her back, but later changed his mind when the news broke and had to do what she wanted because of love.

God settled me with Oladunni Churchill.
Pure Joy. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you…1 Peter 5:10.
My finding love again...
Ladies Don’t let no man sap all of your energy and love when he obviously have nothing to offer you asides from good sex. I’ve been there, done that and trust me, I ran away.
Catch flights don’t catch feelings? So tell me, what is your reason for being? The purpose of your
existence? The same reasons why many of us are here in the first place… I
don’t mean to kill the Boss attitudes, but I work with bosses all the
time. You have to be able to find a balance. Yes we all have an economic
reality, But No, money can’t love you. Be happy at every opportunity,
never repress your love for the sake of trying to make enough money.”
What is enough? Can you feed your self? Do you have a bed to sleep in at
night? Yet you want a bigger bed, forgetting that you could be looking
for someone to share it with. Dont miss out on a family just for money…
Don’t turn into a bitter and cynical person because you were in love once and it didn’t work out… Yes, you invest emotional energy into your partner, but you will always have more energy…. You have a lot of Love to Give. Energy can’t be destroyed so you can’t say it was wasted. Your partner cheated on you… Doesn’t mean all humans are cheats. My ex was a cheat, a prolific internet whore and a fake but that didn’t stop me from loving even harder the next time… You have to be in it to win it. Building breakable barriers will leave you lonely. Loneliness would leave you Sad. If you don’t allow people to get close to you then yes you might not hurt, but you will never Feel. Feelings are just visitors, let them come and go. So catch feelings and flights, but don’t forget love, because that is what all humans need. Don’t let modern trends change your mindset in Cynical ways… Living a life without love, is not living at all.
Most annoying is when the woman have to be bread winner and still receive nothing but the manhood.
A good dick never built a house or paid the rent; a hardworking, dedicated, supportive man does.

I Discovered Wizkid, Not Banky W-OJB jezreel
Renown Producer, OJB Jezreel has decided to set the records straight regarding who discovered Wizkid. In a recent interview, OJB said he hadn’t spoken about it before now because he is too old to be blowing his own trumpet at 50.
The beat maker said that he went to Wizkid’s family house to convince his parents to allow him pursue his music career.
“To set the records, I discovered Wizkid’s talent. We basically started his career and I remember when we had to push Wizkid around and take him for shows but nobody was ready to allow him to perform because they were not ‘feeling’ him at that point in time. When he had the chance and said he wanted to move on and try other things, we were behind him then too. If we did not discover him, he would not have been with us. I was the first person to go to his family house to tell them that it would be a nice idea if they allowed him to go into music.
OJB said that he has no regrets when it comes to Wizkid because he pushed his career as far as he could. We have been there from day one but not everybody know this story, we don’t just make noise about it. It is not Banky W that discovered him, I did. I would soon be 50 years old and I think it would be funny if I start blowing my trumpet,” he said.
“There are some artistes that if you spend millions of Naira on them, they would not be impactful until they cross borders. Take Harrysongs for example, millions was spent on him but nothing happened till he crossed over to Five Star Entertainment. There is no how Harrysongs would say that Questionmark record label was not a blessing to his life. Sometimes, these things happen like that and I think it is destiny,” he said.

My Brother E-Money Didn't Try To Use Skiibii For Money Ritual -- Kcee
The Limpopo Crooner Kcee has expressed disappointment that his brother
and chairman of Five Star Music, E-Money is being dragged into the
Skiibii death scandal.Speaking on Wazobia FM, Kcee said;
“I’m disappointed with people on social media who said that my brother, E Money, used Skiibii for money rituals. What gets me even angrier is that now that he did not die, they are saying his head was too strong for the juju and that is why immediately I came into the country I decided to use this medium to clarify issues.”
“I was on tour with my producer, Soso Soberekon in Norway when the purported rumor of Skiibii’s death broke. Somebody called Soso to confirm the news and Soso called his boy who confirmed that Skiibii collapsed and was rushed to the hospital but he did not know what exactly was happening but it’s like Skiibii was dead and so he told the caller that skiibii was actually dead.
Commenting, Skiibii said that he was hale and hearty. His words:“I later got in touch with my brother, E-Money, who said he had instructed that Skiibii be transferred to another hospital immediately. So the whole issue was misconstrued because of Soso and he has been placed on suspension by the management.”
“I’m alive and healthy. This is not the first time this is happening to me. It’s like a blackout which occurs anytime I’m over excited. It’s happened two times and the last time was when I was on a plane with another label mate. I thank God I’m okay.”
